Samsung Bada OS for new line up of smart phones.
Its been a couple of months since I was reading up on Samsung Bada operating system for Samsung’s new line up of smart phones. Just to name one that will be hitting our stores soon would be the Wave S8500.
Its pretty interesting but would they be able to compete in the already competitive market of smart phones that is currently dominated by Apple and Blackberry?
My, thoughts so far? Well I was lucky enough to play around with a testing device with good friend of mine from Samsung. With all honesty the device had a very very responsive touch screen. I mean I have used many Samsung devices from their Instinct, Prada and Omnia and I was not impressed at all. But the S8500 (Wave) had improved tremendously against Samsung’s previous devices.
Now the Bada operating system. It was good, but to be honest with you I really didn’t get much time to play around with the device for all that long. Since the OS was still in its development phases you will find bugs essentially. But the functionality of the OS seemed to be very fluid but needed some time to get use to. Some features I was excited with the Bada OS was the integrated Social hub to your contact list, Flash compatibility, multi-tasking.
I wish I had more time to do a more in-dept analysis on the device and OS but I wasn’t able to since it was a testing device and Samsung had some strict policies as they wouldn’t even let me take a photo. Funny thing is that you can see the photo’s flying around everywhere on the net. Anyways for all you Canadians you can expect to see this device from Bell for sure, but I’m not to sure about Rogers. But, I’ll keep you posted.
